Blunt is the pollyanna American who lives by the rule of law. Brolin is the world-wise version of America that fights dirty in the gray areas. The focus on Blunt's character losing her innocence as the wider world encroaches upon her is genius.
Cannot believe it was not nominated for writing, directing, or acting, all of which were masterful. Not even Best Picture in a field of eight! One of the best I've seen in awhile.
