Review of Sicario (2015) by Charles D — 09 Feb 2016

I normally avoid crime dramas. This one was not bad, kept me engaged and interested the whole time, and I felt like it taught me a little bit about the topic. The conspiracy theory about the us government controlling the drug trade and being in league with columbian drug cartel is an interesting one with perhaps a grain of truth.

The message of the sisyphean nature of the war on drugs is a true one that I appreciate, plus the reflection of both the ground cop naievete and the deep agent cynicism is a true one and well-acted. Overall, believable story and not bad for being a genre film I don't normally like.
