Review of Sicario (2015) by Tom A — 19 Feb 2016
With flavours of The Kingdom and Traffic, Sicario starts with such a powerful momentum that it digresses in its course and falls short of expectations leaving more loose ends than a suspense thriller should.
All said, Sicario still achieves commanding performances from a renowned leading trio, and indeed the cinematography is something to behold. So far as script and soundtrack are concerned; the context became distracted and blurred by the overbearing augmentation of irrelevant ambient noises.
To conclude, this is a film that maintains a fiery suspense for 75% of its two hour duration, but simply looses traction and ends in an unsatisfying sequence of scenes.
