Review of Sicario (2015) by Jess_Hill — 24 Sep 2015
A tense drama that is engaging yet leaves you feeling helpless. The performances are excellent, Blunt is superb, and the ensemble cast present subtle characters with depth and precision. The storyline is complex, revealing itself incrementally, meaning the motivations of the characters reveal themselves slowly; too late in some instances.
The pacing is restrained, and the overall plot plays out to a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion. Themically, this is necessary, and ultimately I enjoyed this film. A second viewing would enhance the experience again.
