Review of Shutter Island (2010) by Alexn. — 20 Feb 2010
Although I simply guessed what the twist was going to be at the end, it was a very well-made movie in my eyes. I love movies where you are stuck in the mind and perspective of the character instead of knowing that they are on the wrong track.
Some complain that some of the scenes felt "useless", but I think of those as how you would actually see them as the main character: you have no idea what is going on, so you are trying to piece together a puzzle with all of the information that you have at your disposal.
It's very, very reminiscent of The Shining to me, and also has hints of a modern classic spread throughout. I'll be buying this one.
