Given Martin Scorcese's magnificent career, he obviously saw this film as his opportunity to do whatever he wants. Shutter Island is a decent and spooky thriller that builds a lot of skillful tension towards a spooky and surprising climax.
Although the cast are too good for their characters, Shutter Island is a fit and simple thriller.
