Review of Shutter Island (2010) by Pedro T — 10 Feb 2013
Martin Scorsese has made, in my opinion, an enthralling, taut, noir-like thriller in "Shutter Island". For a relatively long film I thought it was beautifully paced, with some classic camera angles that appear to give a neat little nod to Alfred Hitchcock.
The musical score is used sparingly but very effectively, and it is a good example of how music used well can enhance a film. The cast is solid throughout, with DiCaprio putting in an enjoyable turn as the paranoid detective.
Bravo.
