Review of Shutter Island (2010) by George F — 20 Apr 2013
Martin Scorsese has done it again and this time it is with a psychological horror/thriller in Shutter Island. When this movie came out the word of mouth was mixed. Some said that they liked it but it wasn't the best Scorsese film they have seen.
Others didn't like it and said that they found it predictable. Shutter Island is not my favourite Scorsese movie ever made but it is one of his best movies that he has made. Shutter Island is a brilliant crafted film destined to make people feel unsettled and entertained at the same time.
Leonardo DiCaprio is brilliant in this movie and the supporting cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, and Michelle Williams fit in perfectly. Every scene you watch in this movie is more unpredictable and unexpected than the last.
What I will say to some of you is that you will feel haunted and/or disturbed when the credits roll as the movie ends.
