Review of Shutter Island (2010) by Nica S — 25 Jul 2015
To some extent, the character DiCaprio portrays in this film is similar to Dom Cobb from Inception. Both characters suffer from the feeling of guilt and is haunted by his trauma, except this character has gone completely insane and created a different persona.
Despite its convoluted narrative and ridiculous plot contrivances, I'd still say that Shutter Island is a well-crafted film; it is a creepy, gleefully disturbing gothic thriller masterfully directed by Scorsese.
It is well-acted, well-shot, well-edited, all the imagery and sounds in the film will tickle and play with your senses. Be prepared.
