Review of Shutter (2004) by Hunter D — 29 Jul 2008
When this movie started out I thought it was going to be another movie where people are terrorized by the wet, angry ghost of an Asian girl with stringy black hair. While the movie does get off to a rocky start, this is the first movie of this kind I've seen since 'Ringu' that has actually given me the willies.
There are lots of stings and boo-scares, but the atmosphere is also very oppressive and full of dread. It also has an ending that is just plain awesome.
