Review of Shutter (2004) by Hky K — 11 Jul 2008
Perhaps this film would have been better had I not seen the exact same film about 100 times over already, and not seen the horrible American remakes of those films. Alas, it is hard to remain objective when you know what's coming around every corner.
Nonetheless, there was a scene or two that kept my interest long enough to say 'Well, that's a LITTLE different...' I will say that, with the exception of 'The Ring' (and I like the Walter Salle's remake of 'Dark Water,' but that's another story.
..) this film is far superior to any of the Americanized versions of these Asian horrors.
