Review of Shrooms (2007) by Jim C — 17 Jun 2008
I was hoping that this would be a good scary film, but alas I was mistaken. Having slept through it once (no idea how I fell asleep, answers on a postcard please ;]), I thought I would give it another go.
Seeing as though the film is centered around drugs and in particular, magic mushrooms, obviously hence the title, I would have expected the film to be distorted and then a sense of reality prevail. The people behind this film have obviously never done mushrooms and the films lacks any kind of realism that this sort of movie could have provided.
It was predictable, but also well shot at times. There were jumps in the film, but noting to get the heart rate going. It seemed to me like a mish-mash of the blair witch and cabin fever, but without any of the suspence that came with either.
A very average film, although it does look good on Blu-Ray, but if you do want to see this then record it from Sky when it is on, it is not worth the money to buy in my opinion. Pants..!
