Review of Shrek Forever After (2010) by William M — 02 Jan 2012

As this one is the "Final Chapter" in the Shrek series, although really it could have ended after the third one, I rather liked this one as it showed us a different side of what live would be like if Shrek were never born.

In the first film, Shrek met Donkey and saved the princess and even fell in love with her. In the second film, Shrek met the in-laws. :) In the third film, Shrek's father-in-law dies and as he becomes an heir to be king, he seeks out the alternative person that could be king, just so he won't have to do it. And in the fourth film, as his life is perfect in that he has a wife and kids and family and friends that love him, he just isn't happy as he's no longer a feared ogre but a monster that is adored and put upon as a celebrity in the area. So he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to have a day to have things go back to the way they were before he was accepted by the townsfolk. And that's where the "fine print" kicks in and the fun ensues.

So although this movie is more for kids, the adults could likely enjoy it too as in a way, all three movies are combined into the one for this one, or at least parts of the first movie are incorporated into this one and we get to relive the story a little.
