Review of Shrek (2001) by Alec L — 21 Jun 2012
Very hilarious. A film not just for children. The funniest thing is that Mike Myers uses the same Scottish accent for the drunk Scottish soccer hooligan on SNL, Fat Bastard in Austin Powers, and in Shrek.
That's called maximizing your resources. While the voice can wear thin at times, Myers's banter with Eddie Murphy's Donkey was very good. Murphy's Donkey was one of the better animated characters created in the last 20 years.
I also liked some of the pop culture references made in this film as well. Very good animation and wonderful directing. One of the best animated films ever.
