I still remember seeing Shrek in the theater for the first time. It was an instant animated classic that my whole family loved. As somebody who loves fairy tales of all kinds it is still a movie that I really enjoy watching.
The only things I don't care for are the annoying pop culture tidbits. Otherwise I would rate it even higher as I love this first Shrek movie. (First viewing - Summer 2001 in theaters).
