Shrek (2001) ???
Ingenious (and completely indigenous) animated feature from Dreamworks about a reclusive ogre who is accompanied by a talkative Donkey as they journey on a quest to rescue a deceiving princess. Brisk, very funny and very witty (some of the humor is pitched at adults rather than kids), with two wonderful vocal performances from Myers and Murphy, and a perfect role for Lithgow as Lord Farquaad. Don't examine story too carefully or the holes start to show through. Great use of songs, including "All Star" from Smash Mouth. This won the first Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Followed by three sequels.
