Not content to simply cash-in on the success of Shrek, DreamWorks decided to actually put time, care and effort into making "Shrek 2." The result? A rare sequel that manages to live up to it's already-fantastic predecessor.
"Shrek 2" is hilarious, beautifully animated, well-written, and not afraid to take on some new ground with the series, introducing us to some great, memorable new characters (Puss in Boots is a particular highlight).
To this day, "Shrek 2" is still one of the best films that animation has to offer, and if you've been ignoring the film, stop that now. "Shrek 2" was phenomenal in 2004, and it's still phenomenal to this day.
