Review of Shrek 2 (2004) by Page P — 06 Dec 2015

So I believe I'm the first to say this not to be different purposely to make a fake opinion but gods honest truth. I like the first shrek it was good, but this movie was TWICE!!!!!! as better!!!!!!!!!!!! FUNNIER, ORIGINAL STORYLINE and humor, and moving towards romance. Shrek one had way to much sarcastic humor and at times I felt like it was trying to hard to be funnier than it is but right at the middle and the end it makes up for a great film due to some very funny moments and romantic ending. Rescuing a princess and all of a sudden falling in love is pretty predictable. Her being an ogre was a surprise though. Breaking a spell to true loves first kiss is something I don't hear a lot which I can't say its cliche.

Shrek 2 I'll give my opinions why it was more original and funny. You don't see a married couple that are ogres in a movie to visit the wives parent's that are human which is very funny and different. Secondary characters puss in boots was original and funny, seeing shrek turn into human form for the first time with a potion trying to love his wife and showing love and respect to parents thinking its the best for everything was very interesting and entertaining. The fairy god mother trying to black mail Fionas family to make fiona marry prince charming was a funny concept and unexpecting. The movie did'nt stick to sarcastic nonstop acid humor like the first film. it had a mix or some crude, raunchy, and suggestive humor. Surpisingly drug related humor was involved which really cracked me up that you dont see in a kids movie hardly ever which I loved. This movie had a great mix of humor, great storyline, reasonable concept of relationship discretion, and it did not have any annoying moments compared to the first movie. Shrek in the first film acted really cocky thinking he was funny at parts which I found personally annoying and not funny at all, and due to his nonstop anger to donkey as it first starts, but Like I said It gets much better in the middle and the end. SHREK 2 ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best out of the whole franchise.
