Can we stop pretending that Verhoeven and Eszterhas failed at making a serious film about Vegas showgirls and accept that this was a deliberate satire? This makes perfect sense if you look at Verhoeven's filmography: Starship Troopers, Robocop, Basic Instinct, Total Recall.
