Review of Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991) by Gimly M — 17 Jul 2016
As 80's Action movies gasped their dying breaths, and 90's Action movies took their place, Showdown in Little Tokyo had the good fortune of managing to run up the qualities of both. A neat twist on the racial casting typical of the format, with a white guy raised in Japan, and a Japanese descended American who doesn't give a fuck about the culture.
It does lose steam a little after the first act, but not in any major way. It's silly as Hell, and none too original, but if you see the poster and think "Oh yeah, this could be my type of movie" it's almost definitely your type of movie.
Very sad to know we would not be able go on to see more work like this from Brandon Lee.
