It's Kathryn Grayson, not Ava Gardner who makes this musical. In fact, Ava doesn't do justice to those great songs she sings. Of course, you know that Howard Keel can deliver the goods. After seeing this on Broadway in 96, the film just really lacked in my opinion.
There are some great songs... I wish the Broadway version I saw was on film somewhere.
