Review of Shotgun Stories (2007) by Peterson H — 17 Dec 2008
This is a savage American masterpiece. This is the KILLER OF SHEEP for the new millenium. Jeff Nichols has made a film that is so confidently made that he has appeared almost out of nowhere with his talent fully formed.
A languid and beautifully shot film that could have been made by Malick and I would have fully believed you. This is a film that begs to be seen. Please, if you have the means please support this movie.
The film is powerfully acted and features a wonderful score by Lucero. Don't walk, run to rent this emotionally resonant film about generational abuse and deep seeded rage, hatred, and how these things will never truly leave us until we leave them.
