Shot Caller is mostly meant to showcase the undeniable talent of Nikolaj Coster-Waldeu who rarely gets the chance to take on such challenging roles that bring out his best. This movie is gripping almost instantly with its realism and benefits from a witty script, captivating performances, and brilliant writing.
It's one of the few times I was completely fixated on the screen to the last minute.
