Review of Shorts (2009) by Debra W — 11 Sep 2009
Gabriel, Andromeda, and I saw Richard Rodriquezes movie SHORTS this evening. It got mixed reviews for critics and other people who saw it. The children and I really liked it. We had a lot of laughs. I'd give it 4 stars of 5.
Dromi said her favorite part was when the girl Helvetica, whose arms were in casts, ate with her feet. Gabriel said he thinks the moral is: You can always find happiness, no matter what. I think the moral is: Be careful what you wish for. Though it doesn't really matter. It's what each person gets out of a movie--or anything else for that matter.
Some of the reviewers didn't like the non-sequential aspect of the movie. I read Rodriquez said he was attempting to duplicate how his children use the remote while watching TV. Knowing this, I had no problem with the sequencing--it makes sense and it adds to the story.
