Review of Shorts (2009) by Kevin D — 26 Dec 2011
SHORTS was great! I love how Robert Rodriguez told the story. He had this pre-movie short film that was actually part of the movie. The rest of this movie is told in flashbacks out of chronological order rendering this a "Tarantino approach", something out of the ordinary for a family film.
I spent most of the time saying "Oohhh, so that's how that happened!" This movie brings back the lost art form I like to call the "angry comedy". I call it that because there were moments in the movie where I wanted to cuss some of the characters for being mean spirited.
I held back for two reasons: 1. I will not curse in front of little children; and 2. I am not a crazy person. Only a crazy person would curse out a movie screen. I will now digress from this topic and say that I feel that SHORTS is Robert Rodriguez' best directorial effort yet.
You waitin' for an invitation? This is that invitation. Go see this flick. My grade: A+.
