Review of Shortbus (2006) by Blake S — 08 Dec 2009
I found this to be very interesting. It is like Hedwig in that it is a story about people becoming comfortable with themselves. The motivation of the characters is questionable and is never fully explained which is something I like because people don't really understand why they do or want to do some things.
You never really get to find out what in particular was preventing her from having an orgasm because the important thing is how she overcame it, there is no secret exercise or thought process you have to find out how to be comfortable with your self your own way.
The movie I am a Sex Addict did little but establish in detail that the guy who it was about was a sex addict. I wanted it to show how he overcame it and now I think that it was something so personnel that it couldn't really help anyone else but he might be able to get someone else to recognize what they are doing and admit they have a problem but one thing is for crtain he should have made a better film like Shortbus is something that works on more than one level.
