Review of Shortbus (2006) by Martin J — 26 Mar 2008
Beautiful embrace. A take on love and freedom in a larger spectrum than any other movie has shown me as of yet. Home can indeed be very unforgiving, and the strangest place very much like home. Such warmth and sincerity, such audacity.
.. A romantic ensemble-comedy becomes an orgy of freedom and inclusion. Never doubt that, what this movie demonstrates is the fundamental human experience of life's duplicity; the existential and the bodily longing as parts of the same problem, and yet evermore on collision course.
