Review of Shortbus (2006) by Mpho M — 17 May 2008
It's sort of absurd and sort of hilarious. I can't imagine it played well in Middle America, but as an exile of San Francisco, I know that the characters are all too real. The sex was neither here nor there to me: I didn't find it particularly thrilling or titillating.
I guess (most of) it seemed natural, and therefore maybe the director accomplished his goal. All I know is I laughed my ass off and Sook-Yin Lee should do comedy.
