Folk made a fuss about this mostly because it features explicit un-simulated sex, but it's a reasonably well structured and paced story of ordinary folk, more or less, with mostly decent acting and some very nice lighting and cinematography.
Not an unpleasant film. Refreshing to find sex and relationships treated matter-of-factly, uncritically and without violence. I liked this more on the second viewing. Quite "New York", and a little larger than life.
Agreeable. Recommended.
