Review of Shortbus (2006) by Guillermo G — 20 Jun 2010
I remember seeing this film years ago at one of the film festivals. While not as brilliant as director John Cameron Mitchell's fist film it's still a well made and enjoyable time spent. Quite often down right hilarious and extremely real this film exploders the notion of sexuality from all perspectives.
Sook-Yin Lee gives a captivating and funny performance pretty sure this is her first professional acting gig. I wish she would do more. Some the real sex scenes are little off putting and unnecessary and there are certain spots where the film does lose steam.
If suffers from the extensively large cast so many characters are introduced over the course of the film. If the script was a bitter tighter and focused on a selected few it would have strengthen the film considerably.
