Review of Short Term 12 (2013) by Alfin N — 06 Jan 2014
This is the kind of film that helps me remember why I love this art form so much. Short Term 12, better than any film released in 2013, takes you on an emotional roller coaster in the best sense of the word.
It's razor sharp in terms of it's wit, but also extremely sensitive. Like it's counselors, the experience is patient, kind, but damaged in it's own way. It works as a brilliant exploration of adolescence, parenthood and the scars that carry throughout one's life.
It's a remarkable work from a remarkable team. I wanna hug it, squeeze it and see it again.
