Took my teenage son and my wife to see this one, after leaving the theater I thought that this may be the best film that I had seen this year. Now that the year is up, I can say that this watching this film was my best moviegoing experience of 2013.
Yes, I saw some films with some superb acting and more in depth plots, but this film just left me feeling good and had a refreshing quality from start to end. Brie Larson, hello, nice to meet you and by the way, great job.
I also thought John Gallagher was great, I really like his acting in HBO the Newsroom. The young actors in the film were also great, formulating a cast of complex and unique characters. I give this movie my pick as the best overall film that I saw in 2013.
