Review of Short Cuts (1993) by Brandon H — 29 Mar 2008
This one felt very robert altman, even more robert altman than other altman movies. Some great stuff in this one, but there are places when it lags and when things get a little melodramatic. Robert Downey is a little over the top in this one, for me, too. But it has a lot going for it, and this had to be a tough movie to make. Very complex. Things just start to bust at the seams a little bit sometimes.
Coming up should be: Away from her, Tsotsi, Across the Universe, The Bourne Ultimatum, In the Valley of Elah, and maybe Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. We'll see.
