Review of Short Cuts (1993) by Mark F — 22 Feb 2010
This is a gem of a film...genuinely hilarious vignettes of self-absorbed urban malaise. I'm not sure how I would have reacted to Magnolia if I had seen this first...they share a structure and have some similar character outlines but where Short Cuts is cynical and dry, Magnolia is emotionally effusive.
This film deserves a new video transfer.
