Review of Short Cuts (1993) by Brigt D — 17 Jun 2007
Based on stories written by Raymond Carver- this movie follows the lives of several individuals living in Southern California. Though the running time is long (over 3 hours) it doesn't feel like a lengthy movie.
Several characters are just wonderful- especially Lyle Lovett as the baker who begins prank calling Andie MacDowell's character when she fails to pick up her son's birthday cake. Funny, sad, poignant- this movie really deals with some of the issues of modern day society- especially when it comes to relationships.
