Review of Short Cuts (1993) by Jack K — 11 Jan 2008
Here is perhaps Altman's finest film, which paints such a haunting vignette that "Crash" looks like sewage in comparison. The one-two punch of this film and "The Player" is astounding, and while I can't quite pick a favorite of Carver's various stories, I can say that there is not a weak link in the bunch.
