Review of Short Circuit 2 (1988) by Steven T — 07 Oct 2007

This film is AMAZING! The only thing lacking in this one is Steve and Ally, but we still talk. Mostly via email, although since I have no network I usually have to hack into my neighbours wireless. The guy with the fake indian accent was pretty funny, in a demonstrably un-PC way, but you know, it was still the 80's and Indian people didn't have the rights that they do nowadays in America.

They were only one step above Mexicans back then, and we all know how funny Mexicans are in a 'Look at them! They're not like me!' kind of way. But this movie managed to pull it off, because it's all about being different, and laughing at those differences, and smashing robot heads in with crowbars.

I didn't have a stunt double for that scene by the way. Some people have speculated that the filmmakers used number One or Number Two, one of the robots who didn't come alive for that scene, but no, it was me.

And as for that Gold Plated refit they gave me for the end? Bastards claimed it back as soon as filming was wrapped. So when you sat in the theatre and watched me jump up and down in a gold suit, remember, I was already stripped of it, kicked out by the studio and on my merry way to alcoholism.

Such is the studio fame system. One minute you're flavour of the month, next minute you're flavour of last month. Believe me though, in the years since then, I've tasted every flavour of dumpster, cheap woman and bar snacks, but that's a whole other story.
