Review of Short Circuit 2 (1988) by Alan D — 14 Jan 2008
In the first short circuit. Johnny Five was the master of his domain. He was smarter than his adversaries but there was a whole army of them. In this one, the bad guys are sort of petty in comparison (bank robbers) but Number Five is completely lost in the environment of the city. In the second he is alot more like a child and it is much more a study of human nature, shown both in his own emotions and desires and in the way other humans interact with him (help him or use him, or both in Michael Mckean's case).
Plus I wish I were creative enough to write the scene where the girlfriend uses the 8 bit songs recorded on her answering machine to find out where the bad guys threw J-5's friends.
