I'm a lover of the original. That needs to be said. But whereas the original was chock full of cheese and fun, this plays out like a tired retread. No Sheedy, no Guttenberg and Fisher Stevens in overdrive.
Plus J-5's scenes are nowhere near as joyous or fun. Still, I'd pay to see a re-boot of this franchise because I loved it so much as a kid. However, this sequel is best avoided.
