Review of Short Circuit 2 (1988) by Erik G — 25 Jan 2012
After watching the first 'Short Circuit', I'd be glad to continue with the sequel so I can see them connected together. Ben Jahveri and Fred Ritter are working in a electronics business selling toy models of their Number 5 robot.
So when Number 5 (renamed as Johnny 5) is sent from Newton and Stephanie's ranch to the big city, he helps Ben. But he finds that his robotic talents - reading a book very fast to get "more input", for example - are wanted by city low-lifes who want to turned Johnny 5 into profits.
Can Johnny 5 make it in the big bad city? Keep your eyes - I mean, wires - crossed to find out. Another exciting sci-fi/comedy/adventure from the '80s, I find 'Short Circuit 2' as good as the original even if that meant to electrify the family-friendly audience.
It also kept the human/nonhuman friendship element intact. And yes, it's still fun, and I like it. :).
