Review of Short Circuit 2 (1988) by Mark N — 20 May 2012
While a decent follow up to the damn fine original the sequel gets bogged down in 80's NYC apathy and insists on dragging our gregarious hero down with them to make some broad social commentary that most kids could care less about.
No Stephanie or Newton was a huge disappointment as was the neutering of Johnny's death ray, now replaced with a toolbox he seems unable to actually reach, and his third tool hand that was so useful in the original. decent if you liked the original but too much of a downer plot to highly recommend.
