Review of Shooter (2009) by Alan P — 16 Mar 2013
"Shooter" is a flawed, but exciting conspiracy thriller. The biggest problem that it has (aside from several narrative inconsistencies and Danny Glover's impossible-to-ignore lisp) is Antoine Fuqua's hollow direction, which is as straightforward and lifeless as anyone could imagine.
If it had been executed properly with more visual flair and originality, "Shooter" could have been a great film, but as it stands, it's nothing more than good entertainment. Not spectacular, but a good way to spend two hours.
