Ok...Akira Kurasowa fans aside then, how can ya not like this movie??
1/2 a star is like Ishtar or Kung Pow...or even House of 1000 Corpses. Shogun Assassin is what it is man, a fucking genius piece of film editing (given the medium and the equipment), and a total popcorn seller!!
Lots of bloodshed, the nonchalant attitude towards all the carnage on part of the samurai and his son, the 3 masters of death (which so many films thereafter have copied), and the whole no mercy approach to showing it all to the audience in glorious not-so-Technicolor, I'd say, rates this a cut above most boring-ass samurai flicks!
