Review of Shock Treatment (1973) by Megan A — 12 Apr 2009
Try not to think of this as the follow up to RHPS. Try to think of it as a separate entity. If you do this, you'll enjoy it. If you don't... well, then you'll probably feel the way I did the first time I watched it- disappointed and like, disgruntled.
I assume Richard Obrien knew what the hell he was doing when he made this movie, and while I admit that most of his crafty symbolism goes over my quaint little head, I still can perceive that it is very damned meaningful.
Eh?
Also the songs are brilliant and they will capture your soul and make you believe in God.
