Review of Shock Corridor (1963) by Alex S — 21 Jul 2007
A reporter pretends to be insane to get into a mental institute and solve a crime that he hopes will win him the Pulitzer Prize. Watching a vegetarian enter a hotdog eating contest to raise money for an orphanage to go to Disneyland might have been more original, but still this film hits the mark.
Slow at times, odd at times, crazy (no pun intended) acting that really pulls you in at times, the movie is a solid piece. Only stumbles in the beginning and with the inevitable ending.
