Review of Shock Corridor (1963) by Jarett B — 18 Oct 2007
What makes Fuller's films so emotionally gripping? They are, as in the case of 'Shock,' B-movies with questionable acting, overt style, cheesy dialogue and music, but then there are moments of sheer brilliance added to the mix that makes the sum greater than its parts.
'Shock' is equally as devastating as 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' in terms of emotional response ('Cuckoo being the better film of the two).
