Review of Shock Corridor (1963) by Nathan F — 01 Aug 2009
Shock Corridor? More like Schlock Corridor! No, but really; Fuller has always been the one to mix campy premises and rigid storytelling and still yield impressive results. Not so much here though, as the film has a loose-fit narrative, but really just makes way for the three monologues, which are, more or less, all that matter here.
They aren't bad; but the politics of the film reveal themselves instantly and the rest is a bore.
