Review of Shirley Valentine (1989) by Daniel I — 21 Mar 2008
This is what a movie should be. Beautifully simple character portrayal of a woman who takes her firsttrue adventure at the age of 42, reliving her youth and sharing her whole experience with herself.Comedy is subtly inserted her as well as a non-morallistic angle from the director. Though this film is aging, al the basic principles are rock solid. Fabulous performances from Joanna Lumley and Tom Conti who provides the archytypal Greek who won't make fuck with you.
