Review of Shiraz: A Romance of India (1928) by Joel A — 10 Nov 2013
One of the last great silent films from India that despite British control this is very Indian for all the right reasons.
The story of a princess who is saved from bandits & by a local townsman whose son falls in love with her. Sadly she is taken by bandits & ends up in a castle with a prince who she falls in love with.
The son never gives up & for 18 years does all he can to see her but sadly she dies & he begins to grow blind & takes refuge in make models.
He makes the model for an amazing building that ends up being the Taj Mahal. It's an impressive film that is great to watch and thoroughly entertaining.
