Review of Shine a Light (2008) by Trino C — 29 May 2008
As a fan of Martin Scorsese I wanted to see this film.
I never was really into the Rolling Stones, there were always better bands in my opinion of their era, but this film shows the longevity that comes with doing what you love.
The band has evolved over time while still keeping their animalistic energy and sense of humor toward themselves.
The film brings everone together in a space that is more like a concert than a cinema. The sound design and shot selection give you the sense that you are there with them. The cuts to interviews help to hold attention and the intro with Martin shows you just how much a fan of The Stones he is.
Recommend to any fan.
